We are looking for people who want to shape the future with us—as part of SPRIND, which may be officially known as the Federal Agency for Breakthrough Innovations, but thinks like a startup.
Our goal is to support groundbreaking ideas that tangibly and sustainably improve our lives. To this end, we bring together innovative thinkers from science, business, and society—people with outstanding ideas, exceptional expertise, and genuine passion.
With a passion for tackling new challenges and helping to create the future, we seek solutions to the economic, environmental, and social challenges of our time. For us, the future is not a given, but rather what we make of it.
Our mission for the future:
360° Analysis – Taking responsibility for analyzing incoming project ideas, from researching disruption potential and analyzing the Theory of Change to examining technologies, solution approaches, and market barriers
Matchmaker for Disruptors – Serving as a link between research, founders, and investors, as well as a bridge-builder between science, startups, politics, and society
Challenge Crafter – Co-designing and providing operational support for our SPRIND Challenges – from the initial idea through content and methodological design to implementation and further development in close collaboration with the Challenge Team. You structure topic areas, help design calls for proposals, and support participant teams throughout the process to unleash maximum innovative potential.
Impact Architect – Preparation of decision-making documents, aggregation and processing of extensive scientific data into narratives for ministries, policymakers, and society, among others
Knowledge Turbine – Supporting innovation managers, documenting trends, scouting projects and ideas domestically and internationally, and building an innovation database.
Your profile:
A completed degree (Master’s, PhD) or comparable expertise, e.g., in business administration, politics, social sciences, or natural sciences
A strong affinity for technology and entrepreneurship
Initial professional experience in (tech) startups, consulting, politics, or impact investing
Personal interest in social and political developments
Quick comprehension, analytical thinking, and a good sense of how to present content in a simple, clear, and visual way
Strong teamwork skills and a networked mindset as a catalyst for constructive collaboration, as well as a strong focus on results
Excellent knowledge of German and English.
The World at SPRIND:
A mission with economic, social, and environmental returns – make a direct contribution to innovations that disrupt markets, and see firsthand how your analyses lead to real change
A unique ecosystem – access to exclusive events, political decision-makers, and global networks
The appeal of innovation – work in flexible structures and an open feedback culture
Network reach – networking at startup conferences, demo days, and similar events
Work-Life 2.0 – Remote work, modern office spaces, opportunities to grow through projects and tasks, discounted JobTicket or leisure benefits
Salary – Competitive compensation based on the public sector collective bargaining agreement (TVöD Bund EG 13)
We’re looking for innovative minds who have a vision of how radical ideas can improve the world—people who don’t follow traditional career paths in academia or industry, but instead act as interface revolutionaries, blending science, entrepreneurship, and society.
